WE CAN SAVE YOU MONEY ...IF YOU DON'T BRING US LATEX PAINT
It's OK to dry it out and throw it in the garbage.  You don't have to pay when you visit one of our collection facilities, but MMSD's disposal fees are based on weight, a fee that we charge Milwaukee County Residents through the District's user charges.  Less latex equals lower program costs for you.

To dry it out, pour a thin layer in a box lined with a plastic bag.  Newspaper or kitty litter will help absorb more paint in the box.  When the paint in the box is dry, pour in another layer until the can is empty.  Discard the dried paint in the garbage.  Make sure to take the lid off before throwing the empty can in the garbage.
