Preserving the Environment & Improving Water Quality
The former Minor's Garden Center property contains about 54% hydric soils that are a mosaic of lowland meadow and floodplain forest with some upland areas. Floodplain trees slow down rainwater three ways:
Branches physically break raindrops
Leaves capture, hold and slowly release raindrops.
Above ground root systems absorb rainwater.
This property provides passive recreation opportunities including snowshoeing and a place to enjoy beautiful views of the entire area.
