The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is seeking a professional engineer to manage and provide instrumentation and control (I&C) technical support for the planning, design and construction of MMSD's conveyance treatment plant and watercourse projects and ensure project objectives are achieved and completed on schedule and within budget.

 

Requirements: 
Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field and six to seven years of work experience in a position responsible for I&C systems at a wastewater treatment facility or a 24/7 production facility and must possess a Professional Engineer's registration. The successful candidate must possess:

  • Good working knowledge of current technologies used for instrumentation and process control, along with network architectures used for process control and data collection
  • Field experience either installing or overseeing the installation of I&C systems, including starting up and testing
  • Proven ability to manage I&C project work to achieve successful outcomes that accomplish the projects' objectives
  • Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes/operations is desirable
  • High degree of human relations, communications skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to resolve conflict
  • Proven construction management ability and/or proven project management

Experience related to Primavera and Microsoft Office Products highly desirable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable.

Residency within MMSD boundaries (which includes Milwaukee County excluding South Milwaukee) required within one year.


Salary  $69,054 – $98,022 DOQ; competitive benefits package.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGERS/RESIDENT ENGINEERS

The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) seeks Senior Project Managers (SPM) and/or Resident Engineers (RE). MMSD currently manages a $150 million annual Capital Improvement Program.

SPMs manage and administer multiple design and construction budgets, contracts, and various studies for improvements that have been identified to watercourse, conveyance, and water reclamation facilities.

REs provide on-site management and administration of multiple construction contracts for projects involving new construction, replacement, and rehabilitation of the MMSD's watercourse, conveyance and water reclamation facilities.

Projects involve the implementation of cost effective solutions for sewerage and water quality issues within the District's boundaries.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related major and six to seven years of related experience in wastewater, sewer and watercourse and Professional Engineer's registration. Individuals must possess a high degree of human relations, communications skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to resolve conflict. Proven construction management ability and/or proven project management ability. Experience related to Primavera and Microsoft Office Products highly desirable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable.
